Assistant Regional Director - Ecological Services

- Serves as a Fish and Wildlife Service Administrator for Ecological Service program with region-wide managerial, leadership, and advocacy responsibility and accountability for programs, issues and policies relative to the protection of fish and wildlife resources. - Responsible for the achievement of goals and objectives carried out by Regional Office staff and project leaders to implement programs including Habitat Conservation; Partners for Fish and Wildlife and Coastal; Natural Resources Damage Assessment; Endangered Species Recovery, Listing and Delisting, and Consultation. - Develop and implement long- and short-range plans, objectives, and priorities for ensuring adherence to the laws and policies which govern the management of the Service. - Perform a full range of supervisory/managerial duties and responsibilities, including negotiating and executing programmatic budgets - Provides expert advice to the Regional Director and other Service officials, and participate with top-level regional and national managers in interpreting and implementing legislation and legal decisions. Qualifications:
A. Bachelors or higher degree from an accredited college or university in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of education and experience--courses equivalent to a major, or at least 30 semester hours in courses in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional education. OR C. Four years experience that demonstrated knowledge and understanding of one or more of the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, or related disciplines equivalent to that which would have been acquired through completion of a 4-year course of study in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. Additionally, to qualify at the GS-15 level you must fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Qualifying Specialized Experience includes directing policy and staff functions, developing short and long-range plans and formulating and implementing policies, standards and procedures for a regional or national natural resources program, including experience with implementing the Endangered Species Act; Experience supervising staff work on programmatic issues regarding natural resources, and advising management concerning controversial and complex issues affecting natural resources. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
