This is a developmental equal employment specialist position. The incumbent is a case manager and will play a key role in implementing the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service EEO complaint program. Major duties of the position will include:
--Provide assistance to and advises employees, managers, supervisors, and applicants of their rights and responsibilities relative to the federal sector informal and formal complaint process; and ensures that time limitations are strictly adhered to in the adjudication of complaints. --Draft responses to correspondence from complainants, their representatives, and the general public on matters pertaining to EEO complaint cases and/or the EEO complaint system. --Maintain complaint management database to reflect status of case processing. --Make presentations at training and orientation programs for managers, counselors, etc., relative to the complaints system. --Upon determination of an appropriate claim, the incumbent further counsels aggrieved employees during the informal stage of the EEO process; makes inquiries into informal EEO complaints (i.e., interviews employees, witnesses, and management officials; researches regulations and documentary evidence; compiles statistics; analyzes past practices); and briefs the supervisor and management officials on the status of complaints. --Draft responses to correspondence from complainants, their representatives, and the general public on matters pertaining to EEO complaint cases and/or the EEO complaint system. Only experience and education obtained by July 11, 2019 will be considered. You may qualify at the GS-09 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. I have direct and/or related experience in the examples listed below to meet the minimum qualifications for this position such as:
Assisted with developing and maintaining data through a variety of databases and information tracking systems; applied the principles, concepts, legal requirements, and methodology of the EEO Program and applied these to perform the assignments; and interpreted, explained, and applied EEO laws, rules, regulations and procedures; OR A master's or equivalent graduate degree in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.B. or J.D degree, if related. OR A combination of education and experience as listed above. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Promotion Potential:
This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed represent the full performance level of GS-9. At lower grade levels, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-9. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds.The selectee may be promoted without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
