Analyst - Distributed Energy Resources Planning

Job Description Summary: Individual will be responsible for assisting the Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Planning team in all matters including interactions with customers, installers, and developers, relative to distributed energy resources and distributed generation interconnections in Massachusetts.  Responsibilities include ensuring that all necessary generator application and study fees are secured, appropriate project accounting is established, involved in the development of various reporting tools, financial projections and variance reporting, and reconciliation and all project information is entered in the DER tracking spreadsheet.  Invoice processing, billing support and information research and reporting will be required. Duties also include work involving assignments in support processing customer application requests for interconnecting distributed generation projects to the distribution system throughout NSTAR service territory. The individual must also possess an understanding of utility policies and practices and work effectively under pressure and regulatory time constraints. Essential Functions: Process application and study fees from generators. Establish project accounting and work order accounting as appropriate. Receive inquiries from generators and various stakeholders and distribute to appropriate individuals or departments. Work with generators to ensure that missing information is submitted in a timely fashion. Track project hours for analysis and billing to generators and update project cash flows. Maintain documentation for generator interconnections, study, and construction agreements. Act as a liaison to relevant industry groups as needed. Oversee multiple distributed resource projects through their complete life-cycle, from application to final project test and closeout. Receive, research, assign tasks, and answer inquiries from various internal stakeholders. Prepare information for invoicing and material requests as needed. Prepare and document assigned tasks and milestones for the generator interconnection. Process interconnection agreements and authorizations for generator interconnections. Organize and maintain project data, monitor project status and track project milestones in database. Provide regulatory and legislative support, including answering interrogatories as required. Perform analyses and produce standardized and customized reports for regulatory audits and management requests. Maintain department databases, records, and information for company and regulatory requirements. Lead special department and company assignments and/or programs as needed. Will have storm restoration and emergency duty assignments. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Technical Skills:          A working knowledge of, accounting, financing, database management; ability to create ad hoc reports from database as requested; ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure of tight, inflexible time constraints; ability to recognize problems and discrepancies in information and take appropriate action. Education:                    A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or the equivalent experience is required.  A Bachelor's degree is preferred. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
